Sunday Wisdom #4: On the Soul
Yesterday I was listening to country music artist Chris Stapleton’s “Maggie’s Song” and was brought to tears. If you haven’t heard the song, give it a listen and then come right back here to read on, ok? Here’s a version with the lyrics embedded on the video. Maggie’s Song
About now, if you’ve grown just a little bit accustomed to my Sunday Wisdom blog posts, you’re thinking this one seems a bit lengthier than the usual. And you’re correct.
You see, when I listened to the song, I was reminded about a post I’d seen on X (Twitter) last week that truly sickened me (so much does these days, but this one was a particular standout among all the others of late).
The tweet (and accompanying video) featured a Great Resetter’s fervor for his religion. You know the one – Climate Change. In the name of this father, he asserted that a great contributor to harming the Planet is the peoples’ obsession with having pets. Pets are an enemy of the people according to this Resetter. We must reduce the number of pets that exist in the world because the CO2 they produce harms the Planet. Pets eat far too much meat you see. Because pets need meat to eat, they cause humans to mass produce meat (farming animals and processing them for pet food). They also create large amounts of unnecessary manufacturing for their beds, toys, balls, litter, etc., all items wasteful and harmful to the Planet. This must be stopped to save the Planet and protect the people.
I assume this man has no pets just as Randi Weingarten has no children (the former I have not verified, but the latter is true and utterly unsurprising given her treatment of our children during the COVID scamdemic). On further thought, if he’s a typical Resetter, he has a dog and a fish perhaps – “what’s good for me, is not for thee” stuff as seen in John Kerry’s jetsetting habits, and the hair salon appointments of Pelosi or ex-Mayor Beetlejuice, er Lori Lightfoot, of Chicago…
Donald Trump famously told us, “They’re not coming for me – they’re coming for YOU.” Well, I’m here to tell you that not only are they coming for you, (and your kids) they are coming for your pets too. Don’t believe me? Here’s some lovely reportage from CNN in furtherance of this goal (and in furtherance of control and mass production of misery). Here’s a brief excerpt from the piece from almost a year ago but do try to read the whole piece.
(CNN) September 27, 2022 —
Our four-legged friends don’t drive gas-guzzling SUVs or use energy-sucking appliances, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a climate impact. In fact, researchers have showed that pets play a significant role in the climate crisis.

I can hear the opposition mocking this assertion, just as they did about the “gas stove conspiracy theory,” right?
Do you think dogs have a soul? I for one am with Stapleton and Maggie – Maggie has a soul and the heart of a rebel child. Two things the Resetters do not have.
Lyrics for Maggies song below
Let me tell you a story
About an old friend of mine
Somebody left her in a shopping cart
In a parking lot for us to find
Just a fuzzy black pup
She was hungry and feeling alone
We put her in the back seat
Told her we were taking her home
Run, Maggie, run
With the heart of a rebel child
Oh, run, Maggie, run
Be just as free as you are wild
A few kids later
We moved out on the farm
And she followed those kids around
Yeah, she kept them safe from harm
And she loved to chase squirrels
And playing out in the snow
She'd take off like a bullet
Man, you should have seen her go
Run, Maggie, run
With the heart of a rebel child
Oh, run, Maggie, run
Be just as free as you are wild
It was raining on a Monday
The day that Maggie died
She woke up and couldn't use her legs
So I laid down by her side
She put her head on my hand
Like she'd done so many times
I told her she was a good dog
Then I told her goodbye
Run, Maggie, run
With the heart of a rebel child
Oh, run, Maggie, run
Be just as free as you are wild
I had a revelation
As the tractor dug a hole
I can tell you right now
That a dog has a soul
And I thought to myself
As we buried her on the hill
I never knew me a better dog
And I guess I never will
Run, Maggie, run
With the heart of a rebel child
Oh, run, Maggie, run
Be just as free as you are wild
Oh, run, Maggie, run
With the heart of a rebel child
Oh, run, Maggie, run
Be just as free as you are wild
